Kallang Basin Swimming Complex
Kallang Basin Swimming Complex is the most retroactive swimming complex in Delta Swimming Complex. It is a well-structured complex with designs mainly remaining from the older 1980s, where all the neighborhood schools and folks go for their swimming lessons and recreational activities.
This place is not new to certified swimming instructors or lifeguards. It is one of the go-to places where newbies and aspiring instructors do most of their training.
Singapore Life Saving Society is also built into the building, and most lifeguards and swimming instructors go through their tests and examinations there before getting certified.
It is also situated near Kolam Ayer Community Club and the Ministry Of Manpower Services Centre.
Kallang Basin ActiveSG
Kallang Basin’s active swimming complex was built to provide swimming and exercise opportunities and encourage Singaporeans to be healthy and active.
This pool has inspired many swimming instructors and provided fond memories to those who have used it since childhood. Many facilities have faced challenges throughout the years of operation.
The pools at night now use LED lights that are also energy efficient and bright for safe swimming. After swimming lessons, there are a few food courts located around HDBS. The walking distance is approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
The swimming complex has one competition pool for serious swimmers or those training for swimming competitions. It also has a recreational pool for those still trying to pick up swimming, with a depth of not more than 1.5 m.
