Greats Soviet Swimming Pools Era Photography Taken By Photographer Maria Svarbova
Swimming Pools Photography With Good Contrast And Picture Quality!
We are so fascinated and excited to see post like this with good contrast and standard color swimming pools photographs taken by Ms Maria Svarbova that i thought this is something our students and followers should not miss. This are pictures illustrating the germ-free , geometric aesthetic of old swimming pools, especially those built during the Socialist Era in her native country of Slovakia.
Every scene she photographs is highly controlled, from the subjects of her works to the bright colors and dramatic shadows that compose each shot.
The figures are mid-movement, but there is no joyful playfulness to them,” says Sarbova’s artist statement about the project.
“Frozen in the composition, the swimmers are as smooth and cold as the pools tiles. Despite the retro setting, the pictures somehow evoke a futuristic feeling as well, as if they were taken somewhere completely alien.”
The combination of water, light, and movement in typical swimming pool settings provide photographers with the perfect challenge to display their visual and technical skills and explore the boundaries of creativity. Swimming can be said to be one of the most photogenic sports and become real interesting for a lot of photographers to start exploring and taking up the challenges to touch their limit on sports photography.
This series of photographs came upon around 2014 and the largest she had done to date. To see more photographs of hers centered around Europeans swimming pools, do check her out more via her Instagram.
